The main purpose of Chicago Metro Chorus is to get out and sing for our community. We perform at community events, senior centers retirement communities and sporting events! We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you’re looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our profile on gigsalad.com.
Education
In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. Two times a month offer personal voice instruction from a professional voice coach. For a small fee you will spend one on one coaching time to improve your vocal production.
Quartets
Chicago Metro Chorus currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! We also hold a yearly a cappella quartet contest with cash prizes for the audience favorite and highest scoring judges champion. Click here to see past contest winners.

Today’s Chicago Metro Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society was the result of the merger of the Skokie, Pioneer, and Town and Country chapters in 1985. Past directors were Fred Jerger, Chuck Oliver, Hank Buerger, Paul McCraken, Steve Wetle, Frank Fabian, George Sotos, Frank Fabian again, Jarmela Speta, Loren Shevitz, Brian Cromer, and our current director is Luis Galvez. This chorus met at the Portage Park Moose Lodge, at the Sokol Community Hall and our current meetup location is the Mayfair Presbyterian Church
The Chicago Metro Chapter currently has three different types of quartets made up mostly of members of the chorus. Fermata D’ Aria has been entertaining audiences since 2010 with a comedic style . They perform a mix of Barbershop standards, patriotic favorites and well known songs from the 50’s and 60’s. Chicago Retro first gig was televised on two local television stations and focuses more on the Doo-Wop hits from the sock hop era. Voices of Magic is a mixed quartet and the first to be registered in the Illinois District. Each foursome can provide quality entertainment for your company sponsored event, church social, family reunion, downtown festivals, public or private parties, From singing telegrams to full hour long performances. They would be a perfect musical addition for any occasion.
